Disclosure Policy for Product Reviews

The Federal Trade Commission requires that Ads Directory disclose any relationship we have between a product manufacturer or service provider when we write reviews about a product or service.

Ads Directory is a professional reviews, ranking's, testimonial's, business and website listing directory that receives compensation from the companies whose products our Editors review and list in the directory. We test each product thoroughly and research business services as thoroughly as we see fit according to our own standards and give high marks to only the very best and only include positive reviews and listings in the directory. If a product receives a bad or poor review from Ads Directory's Editors it will not be included in the directory. We are independently owned and the opinions expressed here are our own.

Ads Directory Editors rarely are paid to do a review and have not accepted any payments yet for reviews. In almost all cases, we never accept money to review a product or service. We invest our own time to review and test products or services. We absorb the entire cost to tape and post-produce all videos we tape about products. If we are ever paid to do a review, it will be clearly annotated at the end of the review.

We don't pay for the products we test. They are sent to us by the manufacturer. Rarely, do we request a product. In almost all cases, the manufacturer approaches us first via a press release or a phone call. If we feel it's a product you might get benefit from, then we request they send us the product.

We don't return the products after we test them. In certain cases, the product is used up or destroyed. In other cases, the product may get damaged during the testing. We do not staff to process the return of the products.

If we create a link to a product in a review, sometimes we may get paid a commission if you purchase the product or service. We'll disclose that in the review. If you don't see that disclosure, that means we are not getting paid any commission.

If you click a link from one of Ads Directory's columns or reviews and it delivers you to a website selling that product or service (e.g. Amazon.com, etc.), We receive a small commission from that website should you buy. These fees are paid by the product or service provider and you are under no obligation by just clicking the links.

These are good rules and practices in today's digital world. It's important for you as a consumer to understand the relationship between a person or company reviewing the product and the manufacturer or service provider. If you do not see a disclosure policy as part of a review of a product, that reviewer may be violating the law or at the very least the Code of Ethics.
